As we get nearer and nearer to the big event – Festa Italiana – I am suddenly shaken by the idea of getting my butt in gear. First up, inventory! I just did a major inventory recount the other day and surprisingly, I have a great amount of inventory. I think that is the first time my inventory is prepped this far ahead of a show. Phew.
Second is my marketing. I recently rebranded (notice the lovely new logo) and therefore have all outdated marketing materials. I put together new business cards yesterday and have them out being printed. My fingers are crossed that they turn out as great as I am hoping. I now need to update the rest of my materials. Looks like I have a new project for the weekend.
Third, I need to decide on a display setup. This year, I am showing some of my photography as well as my hand-made goods (tiki torches, martini glasses, etc). With such a combination of products, I am having a difficult time deciding how to cohesively display everything. My goal is to severely discount my photography as a way to purge some of my collection, so I want those images to be as visible as some of the more fun good I’ll have (great deals are about to be had). Oh, the challenges of being an artist. Am I right?!?
Fourth, I’ve been toying around with the idea of producing some jewelry that I’ve previously made only for close friends and family. If I can get everything else I need done by next week, I think I might tackle this.
I know what you’re thinking… why do you need one more thing to show in your already full booth? The answer my friends is that I am in an artistic transition. I’m shifting away from the photography & martini glasses and moving more towards semi-repurposed materials as art (tiki torches & jewerly).
No matter what, you’ll have to find me at Festa to see if I bring out these new creations. After the show, I will likely begin selling them in our online store as well.
Back to the workshop… see you at Festa Italiana!!
